A Staff Development Workshop

 

A workshop organized by the Staff Development Centre of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 31st of August 2017 at “Goldi Sand Hotel” in Negombo to enhance the leadership skills of administrative officers of the University.
A lecture on “Leadership Skills” was delivered by the Cooperate Trainer Mr. Chandrasiri Satharasinghe and a lecture on “Music Therapy for Relaxation and Stress Management” was delivered by Mahanama Wickramasinghe, the Head of the Department of South Indian Music of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts.

ISO 9001-2015 international certification for SDC

The Staff Development Centre (SDC) of the University of Kelaniya successfully completed the audit for ISO 9001-2015 international certification from the Sri Lanka Standards Institutions (SLSI).

In 2014, the SDC received the ISO 9001-2008 accreditation from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI)  for the Staff Development programme that is conducted by the SDC for probationary lecturers of universities and higher educational institutions in Sri Lanka marking a milestone in the history of Staff training at tertiary level. The certificate was awarded in recognition of the Staff Development Center’s commitment to implement international quality standards when conducting the staff development programme, a compulsory training programme for all probationary staff members in universities and HEIs.

This certification reflects the Centre’s objectives and aspirations to offer the best staff training programme for newly recruited staff members in Sri Lankan higher educational institutions according to national and international standards.

The SDC strives to become the center of excellence for enhancing knowledge, skills and attitudes of the stakeholders of the Sri Lankan higher education sector by providing professional development opportunities and resources to meet the evolving needs of Sri Lankan higher educational institutions.
