The Debate: Do We Need a Code of Ethics to Report Violence Against Women in Media?

The event was held on 20th Dec 2017 at The Career Guidance Auditorium at 1.30pm. The proposition side was the students of the Department of Mass Communication, and the opposition side was the students of the National Police Academy, Katana. The topic that discussed was “Do We Need a Code of Ethics to Report Violence Against Women in Media”

Dr. Gamini Wijayarathne, Dean of Faculty of Computing and Technology, Dr. A. I. Diwakara, Senior Lecturer of Department of Sinhala, Sub Inspector Pulasthi Jayasekara, Coordinator of National Police Academy, Katana and Dr. E. A. D. Anusha Edirisinghe, Director of the Centre for Gender Studies were the judges.

Mr. Aruna Lokuliyana, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, supporting groups for the two teams were also present.
