The Japanese Takakura Composting Method is Introduced to the University of Kelaniya

An awareness programme to introduce the popular Japanese Takakura Composting Method organized by the Green Practices Committee of the University of Kelaniya was held at the university compost yard on the 25th of April, 2016. This method is internationally recognized as one of the easiest and cost-effective methods of compost manufacturing.

Ms. Ree Kubo of the Environmental Division of the JICA Organization was the main resource person at programme. Additionally, the chairperson of the Green Practices Committee Dr. U. P. K Epa, members of the Green Practices Committee, the librarian Mr. L. A. Jayatissa, members of the academic and nonacademic staff and a number of undergraduates were present at this programme.
