UoK launched Sinhala & Tamil versions of official web site

The University of Kelaniya is committed to providing high quality education and seeks to contribute significantly to the enhancement of existing knowledge in various academic disciplines. In extending its service to the nation, the University launched its web site in all three official languages of Sri Lanka. This trilingual version of the official website was launched by Professor Sunanda Maddumabandara, the Vice-Chancellor of the university on 03rd  September 2014.

This new trilingual official website of the University of Kelaniya was developed under the guidance and supervision of Dr. U. P.K Epa, the webmaster of the university. Technical assistance was provided by the Information and Communication Technology Centre of the University of Kelaniya, under the guidance of its Director, Dr. K.G.H.D. Weerasinghe. Professor V.M. Wijeratne contributed by editing the content in Sinhala. The Tamil version was compiled jointly by Professor S.J. Yogaraja and Mr. Anton Pushparajah.  Mr. Rusiru Chitrasena, Mr. Thilina Wickramarachchi and Ms. Sabreena Niles helped with editorial work in English. Mr. Madhuranga Rathnayake and Ms. Piumi Gomes of the ICT Centre also helped with technical work.

The University of Kelaniya is the first university in Sri Lanka to integrate all three official languages of the country into its official website.
