Program 08: " Soft Skills development Program" - Department of finance

The Department of Finance in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit, University of Kelaniya organized a Soft Skills development program under the theme of CV Writing, Facing Interviews and making attire important at Hotel Royal Park, Kiribathgoda on 3rd  July 2019 from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm.. A total of 120 students attended the program with the lecturers of the department and the guest speakers.

The first session was on facing interviews and making attire important which was conducted by Mrs. Renuka Tennakoon, Lecturer, Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. She emphasized the students the importance of good attire and also she shared the students how to face an interview successfully with confidence as processing only paper qualifications is not enough to compete in the job market.

Second session was conducted by Mrs. Priyanka Perera, Consultant, Ceylon Chamber of commerce on CV writing. In her session, she insisted the students the need of a good CV as it is the first opportunity to create a good impression on potential employerZs mind.

 The programme was completed successfully enabling many participants to reflect on their future career path and life in greater depth and understand what they need to do to get there.
