Rules and Regulations

  • Every reader should be a member of the library
  • It is compulsory for students who are registered to follow the courses to have the endorsement of the official library frank and signature of the librarian in their student identity card.
  • It is compulsory to enter the information of library-users on the book positioned at the doorstep.
  • Bringing books, filing gears, bottles of water, bags, etc., into the library premises is highly prohibited. 
  • Operating mobile phones within the library premises is highly prohibited.
  • Readers should hand over the books they referred to the library staff.

Readers are bound to abide by the above-mentioned rules and regulations

About Us

The Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology (PGIAR) was established on the 1st January 1986, by order dated 18th December 1985, under section 24A of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978 by the University Grants Commission. The PGIAR is a Postgraduate Institute of the University of Kelaniya. It is the prime institution for postgraduate studies and research in archaeology and subjects related to archaeology in the country.
