Model Early Childhood Development & Day-care Centre
The University of Kelaniya, the Ministry of Children and Women's Affairs jointly established the Model Preschool of the Ministry as the Model Early Childhood Development and Day Care Centre on 10th February 2023 at the premises of the University of Kelaniya.
The MECDC centre, which is running the pre-school and day care centre in a very successful manner by prioritizing education with practical activities, has organized a number of events to expand the experiences of the children. Also, the children of our centre have participated in many field trips inside and outside the university, gaining very successful knowledge and experience.
Apart from this, the centre regularly organizes training programs for the pre-school and day-care centre wardens to gain knowledge to improve the quality of the pre-school. The teachers were getting good knowledge and training through this.
MECDC Centre was implementing pre-school teacher training programs along with other study centres of Kelaniya University by contributing to community care services.
