1. Evaluate the relevant department’s academic programs/ research initiatives/ corporate consultancies related expectations in the minds of its key stakeholders

1. Identify the activity content, expected main outcomes with respect to the sub-categories mentioned (TD/ SI/ IC or OA)
2. Develop the execution plan highlighting the major milestones, and budgetary requirements

The CBID Project Proposal Submission Process

The departments which are interested in seeking funds under CBID projects are advised to compile the project proposals and submit to the ?Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. The CBID proposal review team would evaluate the suitability of the projects and recommend for funding. Each department is eligible to receive an allocation up to LKR 500,000 per year . Once the funding is obtained, the project team is expected to produce financial statements along with the final project report and the CESBIS e-repository form utilizing the templates provided.

** Note: CBID provides a grant worth to 50,000.00 LKR for each Department, Centre, or Unit per annum. The completed application form should be submitted to the Vice Chancellor via Head and the Dean of the respective faculty with a covering letter signed by the project or event coordinator/activity leader or official representative. The Directors of centers who immediately report to the Vice Chancellor could submit the proposals directly to the Vice Chancellor. CBID committee headed by its Director will evaluate the proposal once it is forwarded to the CBID by the Vice Chancellor and financial approval process will be done accordingly. Once the project or event is completed, it has to submit the “Form for Reporting the Progress of Image Building Event” via Head, Dean to the Director of CBID within 1 week with a brief of the event and two high quality images (Photos) to publish in the CBID website for official purpose.

Activities proposed by CBID

The Centre for Brand Image Development (CBID) undertakes the following tasks.
Strategic policy development related to stakeholder value creation and brand identity development
1. Facilitate internal stakeholders to build sustainable strategic relationships with key external stakeholders
2. Create a community to be ambassadors of UoK’s strategic brand identity and share best practices within the internal and external stakeholders
Project Proposal development, evaluation, and deployment
1. Provide consultation on the development of project proposals for strategic value creation targeting the intended stakeholders
2. Review the proposals submitted and deployment of the relevant funds (LKR 50,000 per annum per department for an approved project proposal)
3. Monitoring progress of the projects and maintaining the e-repository of the project portfolios
Establishment of funding sources
1. Facilitate external funding through national and corporate agencies
2. Build strategic relationships to strengthen the bonds among the university, government, and corporate triangle
3. Promote and facilitate internal stakeholders to implement financially sustainable projects to generate additional funding opportunities
