It is a delight to unveil two Wushu Champions who won the 18th National Wushu Championship which was held for four consecutive days, on the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th of March at the Indoor Stadium in the Youth Council Sports Complex, Maharagama. The distinguished guests at the event were, the Honorable Mr. Manusha Nanayakkara, Honorable Mr. Madura Vithanage, Madam Ji Lili, Madam Hu Hui, Professor Shemal Fernando, and Mr. Manel Dharmakeerthie.
It was a very special win for the University as both participants were able to secure the Championship in their respective events, K.R. Keshalika, won First Place in the Cha Quan event while B.L.I. Anuththara won First Place in the Fanzi Quan event.
We would like to congratulate both the Champions for their dedication, skills, and spirit and we wish their journey in Wushu to continue flourishing while they excel in their academic studies.
As the Confucius Institute, we are extremely proud of their win as they have been able to make the most out of what we offered as the Confucius Institute introduced Wushu to the University. Furthermore, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Wushu Coach, Mr. Ruchira Bodinagoda the Department of Physical Education, Sports Council, and all the instructors for their invaluable support.
Finally, we think that this achievement will inspire all the other athletes to practice hard and make the impossible, possible.
