The Gender Equity and Equality Club organized a two-day workshop series focused on creating awareness about “Gender and Law”, targeting the undergraduate students at the University of Kelaniya.

The workshop was funded by DAST (Diversity and Solidarity Trust Sri Lanka).

The first day of the workshop centered around defining and discussing the concept of gender, providing participants with foundational knowledge necessary for understanding its implications in legal contexts. Through interactive discussions and engaging activities, students explored the various dimensions of gender and its significance in the framework of law and society.

This initiative aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for gender equality and understanding of legal rights, fostering a more equitable campus environment.
