The DAAD Regional Office in New Delhi organized a two-day programme for Alumni of Sri Lanka on 25th and 26th April 2024 at the Goethe Institute, Colombo to strengthen alumni activities, cooperation with German universities and regional cooperation. Snr. Prof. Neelakshi C. Premawardhena was invited to present the outcomes of International Cooperation through Alumni Academies of the University of Siegen, Germany, and the impact on university students in Sri Lanka. Undergraduates from University of Kelaniya have conducted several projects from 2013 to date under the auspices of four alumni academies of University of Siegen which have been supported by the DAAD. The presentation titled “Alumni Academies of the University of Siegen and impact on student population at Sri Lankan universities” was held on 25th April. Several DAAD alumni from the University of Kelaniya attended the event.
The Certificates of Award to the five recipients of the DAAD University Summer Course Scholarships, all of whom were from the University of Kelaniya, were presented by H.E. the Ambassador Dr. Felix Neumann at the Dinner reception held on the 25th of April.
