Visit of delegates from Moldova and Romania

 Prof. Dorin Lozovanu, a specialist in Human Geography, Ethnology, Anthropology, Tourism, and Linguistic Geography from the Institute of Ecology and Geography, University of Moldova, Dr. Corneliu Filip, historian, writer and journalist, and Mr. Liviu Danila, social assistant from Romania called upon the Director, Centre for International Affairs Senior Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena and Coordinator, Confucius Institute Dr. Jani Samarakoon on 22nd January 2025. The delegation is visiting Sri Lanka on their way to Universities of Sintiniketan and Raiganj, West Bengal, India for a series of lectures. Prof. Lozovanu was a participant at the Erasmus+ International Staff Training Programme held at Akdeniz University, Antalya, Turkey, in May 2019 which was also attended by Snr. Prof. Premawardhea and Dr. Samarakoon. Discussions on possible areas of collaboration and joint research were held at the Humanities Faculty Boardroom 02. Dr. Corneliu Filip expressed his interest in offering the copyrights of his work of over 100 books and travel documentaries for translation into Sinhala. Ms. Rasangi Gamage, Coordinator, International Cooperation was also present during the discussion. The delegates were later treated to a taste of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine at the Hela Bojun outlet of the university.
