Message from the Chief Coordinator
Dear colleagues, on behalf of the Centre for Chinese Studies (CCS) at University of Kelaniya, I am delighted to extend warm greetings to everyone attending this Conference. The Centre for Chinese Studies is a research and development unit attached to the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya. The establishment of this research centre is a result of long term friendship, economic, cultural, social and political cooperation between Sri Lanka and China. In parallel to the establishment of Sri Lankan Studies Centre at Chongqing Normal University in 2015, the University of Kelaniya also took necessary measures to set up the Centre for Chinese Studies. It is expected to bring together leading Chinese and Sri Lankan researchers, in the field of Humanities and Social sciences, and to lay the foundation for scientific and research projects by presenting them the opportunity to excel.
We are proud to publish high quality reserach abstracts of Chinese, Korean and Sri Lankan scholars and we congratulate them all.I hope that you will continue to aspire, achieve, and pursue your dreams. I also want to acknowledge the support of members of the academic staff of the University who work with our ICCS-2016 scholars.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to scholars from Chonqing Normal University, from Korea, from Sri Lanka and for the immense support given by the Confucius Institute at University of Kelaniya and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka. I am grateful to everybody who helped to make ICCS-2016 a success. Last but not least, thank you for attending the ICCS-2016Conference!
