Prof. Chamaru de Alwis on Erasmus+ Staff Teaching Mobility at the Polytechnic Pozega, Croatia

Professor Chamaru de Alwis of the Department of Human Resources Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies was at the Polytechnic Pozega on Erasmus+ Staff Teaching Mobility from 29th May to 2nd June 2022.

My experience as an Erasmus+ Staff Teaching Mobility Grantee at the Polytechnic Pozega, Croatia

“The Polytechnic in Pozega sent me a special invitation to participate in the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme, as I was the one who initiated the relationship between the two institutions (the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka and the Polytechnic in Pozega in Croatia) and collaborated on a number of research projects with them.

In fact, I must state that my representation is not solely for my research objective and to gain teaching experience; it also represents my university. During the discussion with the Polytechnic's administration, I was able to discuss the ongoing development of the beneficial partnership between the two institutions.

In addition to teaching, the primary purpose of my visit was to meet with my research partners and have an in-depth discussion about how our research interests are evolving and how we might identify significant subjects for our next research projects.

Similarly, an important component of the experience was the opportunity to see the institution's and colleagues' methods of operation. This observation helps to comprehend how they teach, what physical and human resources are available, and the culture of this scientific discipline.

In addition, this opportunity helps me gain knowledge and specific know-how from good practices abroad; improve my knowledge of social, linguistic, and/or cultural issues; acquire practical skills that are essential to my current job and professional development; enhance my job satisfaction; and build new contacts/expand your professional network.

I'd like to thank Polytechnic in Pozega and the University of Kelaniya for giving me this opportunity”.
