University of Kelaniya has been invited to participate at the 11th Jogja International Model United Nations (JOINMUN 2022) to be held virtually in Yogyakarta, Indonesia organized by the University of Gadjah Mada (Universitas Gadjah Mada). This year, JOINMUN will be offering scholarships to university students across Asia, Europe, and North America for youth-based knowledge transfer and internationalisation.
Ten students from University of Kelaniya will be selected to join the Model United Nations Conference free of charge. The call for applications will be sent to all the undergraduates.
The virtual conference will be held on 1st and 2nd October 2022 focusing on “Global Community Reconstruction: Towards a Peaceful and Prosperous Future”.
A virtual meeting was held on 8th July 2022 to discuss about the conference and the participation of students from University of Kelaniya. Participating at the discussion on were Senior Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director, Centre for International Affairs, Ms. Sashini Chandrasekara, Coordinator, International Cooperation, Ms. Sanduni Iddamalgoa, Coordinator, International Student Affairs. Mr. Wan Mohammad Alvaro Anza, President of JOINMUN 2022 and Ms. Eunike Azalia - Vice-Head of Global Outreach represented the organising committee of JOINMUN 2022.
