DAAD Information Session Unveils Exciting Opportunities for University of Kelaniya Community
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) orchestrated a dynamic online information session, titled "Study, Research and Scholarship Opportunities in Germany," on 5th February 2024, exclusively tailored for the academic and administrative staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students of the University of Kelaniya.
The session commenced with introductory remarks by Senior Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director of the Centre for International Affairs. Following this, Ms. Nimaya Manudewa, DAAD Regional Officer in Sri Lanka, presented a spectrum of opportunities for studying and conducting research in Germany.
Dr. Ishanka Karunarathne, a DAAD Research Ambassador from the Department of Human Resources Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, shared her invaluable experiences as a DAAD doctoral candidate and research fellow in Germany. Her insights added a personal touch to the session, offering a glimpse into the transformative journey of pursuing academic aspirations in Germany.
Ms. Anuroopa Dixit, Programme Officer for Scholarships at the DAAD Regional Office in New Delhi, India, presented detailed information on scholarship opportunities and the associated application procedures, providing a comprehensive guide for those aspiring to embark on educational and research ventures in Germany.
The Q&A session offered participants an invaluable opportunity to delve deeper into the specifics of study programs, scholarships, and research prospects in Germany.
The event drew a diverse audience, including students from the Faculties of Commerce and Management Studies, Computing and Technology, Humanities, Science, Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies along with DAAD alumni from the University of Kelaniya, academic and administrative staff.
