A meeting with the Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva took place on 20th June 2024 with Prof. Svetlana llyna. Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Prof. Elena Khrisanova, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Chivash State Pedagogical University, Russia. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean, Faculty of Humanities, Ven. Dr. Meemure Gunananda Thero, Senior Lecturer in Russian, Snr. Prof. Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director, Centre for International Affairs, Dr. Asanka Pallewatta, Director, International Center, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine and Ms. Kaveesha Hettiarachchi, Coordinator, International Cooperation.
The delegates also visited the Russian Section of the Department of Modern Languages for further discussion on the collaboration focusing on the development of teaching of Russian at schools in Sri Lanka.
