The Alumni Academy of University of Siegen, Germany 2023/2024 on Urbanisation and Rural Development concluded on 13th September in Siegen. The contributions by the students of BA Honours in German Studies teaching ofEnglish to rural school children and the students of BSc Honours in Software Engineering with their project titled Digital Literacy Fiesta conducted at a school in Jaffna were well received at the Alumni Academy held from 9th to 13th September.The Alumni Academy also included training on International Project Management.
The project from University of Kelaniya developed by Senior Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena titled “Bridging the knowledge gap – Creating opportunities" involved over 500 school children and 50 undergraduates from the Faculties of Humanities and Science.
A poster presentation and a PowerPoint presentation during the Alumni Academy 2024 highlighted the success of the projects. It is envisaged to further develop the project to cover all STEAM subjects.
The students of University of Kelaniya have been participating in and successfully contributing to the Alumni Academies of University of Siegen since 2021 under the guidance of Senior Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena.
