What if someone cannot read or write? How does he face the difficulties in this 21st century era?
The month for literacy is widely known and celebrated all around the world. One can raise a question about what the importance of this month is. Obviously, if you are capable enough to understand this article, that’s because of your literacy level. In the month of September, the people learn about the importance of literacy in each and every territory in the island. The literacy month depicts the ability of reading and writing of a person of his language. It is a key factor to face society confidently. As this writer asked before, it is totally difficult and different for an illiterate person to stay in a world powered by literacy. The basic knowledge on reading and writing shows many more opportunities for a literate individual than for an illiterate person.
Each September keeps giving a detailed attention on literacy. What one could do individually for cherishing the real essence of literacy? Of course, one could teach the basic skills of literacy as a volunteer. One could encourage and educate the importance and advantages of being literate to the community. Establishing book societies in a small manner is effective in a huge manner.
