The main objective of this workshop was to systematically provide students with professional theoretical and practical training in announcements and to develop the knowledge necessary to use their skills in practice. The objectives of this workshop were to familiarize the students with the premises of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and to allow them to experience the technology and practicality available there. (36) students with announcement skills participated in this announcement training workshop and this workshop was organized to provide practical knowledge to their professional and innate abilities.
The workshop, which commenced on 14th July 2025, was held for five days from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The certificate awarding ceremony of the workshop was held on 18th July at 3.00 p.m. under the patronage of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Hon. Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva. The event was also successfully concluded with the participation of the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Prof. Uditha Gayashan Gunasekara, the Chairman of the Arts Council of the University of Kelaniya, Prof. Uda Hettige, the Director of Training of the Training Institutes of the Broadcasting Corporation, Indika Jayaratne and other staff.
