“Selavena Dathin Sithuwam Kala Jeewithaya”, Thimali Priyani Kasthuriarchchi Art Exhibition
“Selavena Dathin Sithuwam Kala Jeewithaya”, Thimali Priyani Kasthuriarchchi Art Exhibition organized by the Arts Council, University of Kelaniya was held on the 27th and 28th of March 2019 at the Art Gallery of University of Kelaniya. A variety of pastel painting were exhibited at the event.
Thimali Priyani (a Student with Disabilities) is reading for a BA Special degree in Mass Communication at the faculty of social sciences.
Present at the inauguration were Vice Chancellor Prof. D.M. Semasingha, Deputy Vice Chancellor Senior Prof. Laxman Senavirathna, Senior Prof. Ariyarathna Athugala – Chairman Arts Council, Senior Lecturer Aruna Lokuliyana – Head, Department of Mass Communication and the Arts Council members, academic staff and Undergraduates of the Department of Mass Communication.
“Sarasavi Prathibha” Competition
The first round of the “Sarasavi Prathibha” Competition was held on the 05th of March 2019 at the University of Kelaniya. This inter university cultural creation competition organized by Arts Council of Sri Lanka and the Department of Cultural affairs for student of National Universities. Senior Artist Sathish Chandra Endirisingha conducted the competition. Large number of Kelaniya University undergraduates participated for the first round of Music, Dancing, announcing and singing.
"Aluth Ape Kalana Rathri 2019"
"Aluth Ape Kalana Rathri 2019" which is entertainment Programs of Orientation Program for fresher in 2017/2018 academic year was organized by the Arts Council University of Kelaniya. It was held on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 20th,21th, and 22nd of February 2019 at the Sri Dhharmaloka Hall of the University of Kelaniya.
There were many events in the Aluth Ape Kalana Rathri program which are Sarasawi Nishanthaya, the Lalitha Kala Prethibha prabha, the Rasamma daniyal ,the Guthila Kawaya, the Ranwala Show and Aluth Ape Kalana Rathriya 2019 that was performed by the fresher in the University of Kelaniya.
