The Seventh workshop of the “Hands on Heritage” workshop series organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies was held on the 20th of July 2019 at the university premises. This workshop was conducted with practical activities on the topic of "Pottery Classification and Site Catchment Analysis in Archaeology". This Workshop was facilitated by Senior Lecturer Ranjith Bandara Dissanayake (Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya), Dr. Astha Dibyopama (Department of Archaeology, Deccan College,India) and Dr. Nilesh Jadhav (Department of Archaeology, Deccan College,India).

 

The sixth workshop of the “Hands on Heritage” workshop series organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies was held on the 30th of June 2019 at the university premises.This workshop was conducted with practical activities on the topic of "Identification and Classification of Stone Tools". This Workshop was facilitated by Dr. H. Nimal Perera, Former Deputy Director, Department of Archaeology, Sri Lanka. Undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya and some other scholars participated in this workshop. 

 

The Fifth workshop of "Hands on Heritage" workshop series was facilitated by Prof. Anura Manatunga and Prof. Malinga Amarasinghe on the topic of "Methods of Gardening and Landscaping in Ancient Sri Lanka". This workshop was conducted as a Field Workshop at Sigiriya World Heritage Site. Undergraduates of University of Kelaniya and some other scholars participated for this workshop.

 

The Fourth workshop of "Hands on Heritage" workshop series was facilitated by Prof. Anura Manatunga and Prof. Malinga Amarasinghe on the topic of "Understanding Medieval Sites and Monuments in Sri Lanka". This workshop was conducted as a Field Workshop at Polonnaruva World Heritage Site. Undergraduates of University of Kelaniya and some other scholars participated for this workshop.

 

The third workshop of the “Hands on Heritage” workshop series organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies was held on the 05th and 06th of October 2018 at the university premises, on the topic of "Potential usage of Literary sources for Heritage Studies". Dr. R.A.A.S. Ranaweera, Senior Assisstant Librarian, Mrs. A.P.U De Silva, Senior Assistant Librarian and Mrs. D.S. Priyangika, Senior Assistant Librarian were the resource persons of this workshop.
