The 16th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 19th of December 2019 at the Auditorium, Department of Fine arts, University of Kelaniya. 

Prof. Dr. Svanibor Pettan, Vice President of the ICTM & Chair in Ethnomusicology, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia conducted this lecture on the topic of “From Music and Minority Studies to applied Ethnomusicology”. Academic staff members, invited scholars and undergraduates were participated in this lecture.

 

The 15th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 22nd of October 2019 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Social Sciences. 

The lecture was held with the objective of enhancing the knowledge about heritage & promoting Gandhian Philosophy. Dr. Revant Wickram Singh, Director- Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, India conducted the lecture on the theme: “Leadership and Mass Mobilisation: A Study of Gandhian Philosophy and Strategies"

Prof. Anura Manatunga, Director- Centre for Heritage Studies, Prof. M.K. Weerasinghe, Prof. W.A. Weerasooriya & academic staff members, invited scholars and undergraduates graced the event.

The 14th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 20th of August 2019 at the Auditorium of the Library of University of Kelaniya. 

Prof. W. K. M. M. K. Weerasinghe delivered this lecture on the topic of “Book Review - Yugathara Journal - Vol.I and Journal of the Centre for Heritage Studies - Vol.I”. Academic staff members, invited scholars and undergraduates graced the event.

 

The 13th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 11th of July 2019 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The lecture was held on the topic of "Recent discoveries of Buddhist manuscripts from ancient Gandhara (Pakistan and Afghanistan) and their significance, and creating a global platform to conduct research on Buddhist manuscripts" by Dr. Mark Allon, Chair- Department of Indian Subcontinental Studies, University of Sydney, Australia.

Prof. Anura Manatunga, Director- Centre for Heritage Studies, academic staff members, invited scholars and undergraduates graced the event.

12th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 27th March 2019 at the t the Board Room, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.The lecture was held with the objective of expanding research knowledge on heritages. Dr. K. D. Lasanthi Manaranjanie conducted the lecture on the theme: R“Music Therapy and Medical Ethnomusicology for Today”.
