The Centre for Heritage Studies at University of Kelaniya is an interdisciplinary centre which brings together researchers and students from a variety of academic as well as professional disciplines such as archaeology, heritage conservation and management.
Yugathara – Volume Five
The fifth volume of the Yugathara academic journal series by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya is now available as an E-journal. This academic journal creates a platform with an interdisciplinary research approach for the researchers and professionals who conduct research on Heritage, in order to exhibit their research, theoretical analysis as well as concepts related to Heritage.
The Archaeological Survey of the Giribawa Pabalugala Archaeological Reserve, which is being implemented by the Research Associate of the Commission for Archaeology of Non-European Cultures (KAAK), Bonn, the Department of Archeology, Sri Lanka, the CNRS Laboratory AOROC, in collaboration with Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya, was commenced on 7th of February 2022.
International Conference on Heritage as Soft Power organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26th December 2019 & 27th December 2019 at the University of Kelaniya. Professor Emeritus Sudharshan Seneviratne delivered the keynote address at the Inauguration Ceremony on 26th December 2019. Professor D. M. Semasinghe, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya graced the event as the Chief Guest.
17th Lecture of the Lecture Series on Heritage Studies
The 17th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on 19th of April, 2021 via Zoom Technology. Senior Prof. Jagath Weerasinghe, Postgraduate Institute of Archeology, University of Kelaniya conducted the lecture on the theme : “Heritage, Memory & Identity.”
