The Opening Ceremony of the ‘Centre for Heritage Studies’ in order to carry out in-depth research into the heritage of Sri Lanka and overseas was successfully held on the 04th of October at the Staff Development Centre under the auspices of Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.

The first lecture of “Heritage Lecture Series” was conducted by Professor Sandagomi Koperahewa, University of Colombo on the topic of “The Significance of Sinhala Language as a Heritage” at this opening ceremony. Staff members and undergraduates of University of Kelaniya and some other scholars participated for this lecture.
