Heritage Lecture Series

10th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 13th March 2019 at the Library Auditorium, University of Kelaniya. The lecture was held with the objective of expanding research knowledge on heritage studies. Prof.Vasant S. Shinde conducted the lecture on the theme: “Excavations at Rakhigarhi Harappan Site”.

9th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 13th March 2019 at the Library Auditorium, University of Kelaniya. The lecture was held with the objective of expanding research knowledge on heritage studies. Dr. K. N. Dikshit conducted the lecture on the theme: “Recent Advances in Indian Archaeology”.

8th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 27th November 2018 at the K27 203 Hall of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The lecture was held with the objective of expanding research knowledge on heritages. Dr. Sushma Trivedi, Professor- University of Lucknow (India) conducted the lecture on the theme: Rathnagiri- Resourcing & Reclaiming Buddhist Art & Art Style in India & Beyond.

7th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26th of November 2018 at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre. The lecture was held with the objective of commemorating the great heroes on behalf of bicentennial celebration of 1818 rebellion. Further,“Walapane Satana” short film by Munidasa Punchihewa was also screened at the programme. An Aloka Pooja of 200 oil lamps was conducted under the patronage of Senior Lecturer Ven. Dr. Kapugollewe Anandakitti Thero, Chief Student Counsellor.
