The life of everyone on earth was so calm and quiet before it hit to the effect of the Covid 19. It is a kind of virus that propagated widely at a speed that we never expected. The world was alarmed and it affected every sector including the health sector, businesses, education, transportation, etc. Among them, millions of children and university undergraduates were under pressure because they could not able to get the proper education they hoped for. And, the word “online education” came into the world and it was tremendously popular ever than before.

The world is under the power of the internet and its related materials in the 21st century. It has become a part of our lives; our families and of course in every corner. The well-developed countries have much access as possible to online platforms as their technological development is at a higher level rather than in our country. Covid made the pathway to stay at home policy not only for pupils and undergraduates but also for school teachers and university lecturers as well. So, it came as one of the easiest and most possible learning teaching methods in online way via zoom, Microsoft team, etc. in Sri Lanka rapidly.

Sri Lanka is still a developing country riched with talented individuals. Covid has a global influence and the online platforms were enlivened by it. There are many advantages of online education. We learn from home and it is comfortable for us even for our parents. We only need a better internet connection and a better device to connect to the internet. We could learn at any time in any place at home. The cost of bus tickets, and fancy dresses have minimized and we learn very comfortably. It is the way how e-learning platforms affect our lifestyle during the pandemic.

Before the pandemic, we attended university lectures too far away from the house spending several hours going to the university. Children went to school with their spat of books and to the tuition classes. There were not many popular e- platforms like zoom as it was not much needed. We came to the university to see our dear colleagues respond to cheerful and laughable talks. But, covid has stopped it unpretendingly. After using online platforms, we complained about eye sores, and backbone pains too. We were so depressed and needed to go on an expedition with loved ones to get mental relief. Covid made a huge impact on the education sector. Online learning is effective and costs less and at the same time, classroom learning is traditional; but connects lives with cheerfulness and insightful learning experience.
