Career Fair is one of the signature events organized by the Career Guidance Unit of University of Kelaniya to provide a platform for undergraduates to explore career opportunities in the corporate world. Consequently, for the fourteenth consecutive year, Career Fair 2023, which is organized in collaboration with the Rotaract Club, Leo Club, LED KLN, Gavel Club, and AIESEC at the University of Kelaniya is going to spread luminance by offering a platform for undergraduates to thrive and become the best in the corporate world.
Undergraduates can utilize this chance to prequalify for upcoming employment opportunities. We intend to mentor our undergrads so they can become leaders in their specialized industries. We will implement a variety of career explorations and experiential learning opportunities to maximize students' professional and personal potential. This engagement also helps them to better understand who they are, by empowering students to select meaningful professional pathways and succeed in a diverse society. Thus, Career Fair provides a convenient approach for many job and skill seekers, and it is a chance to elevate their experience, education, and aspirations.

Amidst all of this careers become one of the most important hallmarks of all time with the booming technology and competition. In today's context, with the rising competition, innovation and development of individual personalities and skills, finding and embracing a career becomes a challenging yet time consuming milestone in one's life.
Qualification alone will not provide the enough support to create the perfect employee persona to pitch yourself as the best recruit to an organization. This is where skills come into place. But skill development and identification can be another challenge.
The Career Fair organized by the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) is ready to remark its action for the 14 th time. Mainly focusing on providing a professional exposure to all the undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya in terms of soft skills and professional skills, and also to guide the choices of career paths. We focus on strengthening the ties between the corporate sector and the undergraduates to make the career approach more easier and smoother.

Career Fair 2023 - Workshops
First workshop of the Career Fair 2023
The first workshop of the Career Fair 2023 organized by the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 17th of February 2023. The topic of the workshop was CV WRITING AND INTERVIEW FACING. It was at the Faculty of Social Science, K2 - 002 Hall of the University of Kelaniya.
It was conducted by Ms. Shelini Jayawardena - Executive - Human Resources at Camms. More than 250 participants attended the workshop and the main aim of the workshop was to create awareness among undergraduates in CV writing skills and interview skills.
Second workshop of the Career Fair 2023
The second workshop of the Career Fair 2023 organized by the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 24th of February 2023. The topic of the workshop was Linkedin. It was at the Faculty of Social Science, K2 - 002 Hall of the University of Kelaniya.
It was conducted by Ms.Rovina Vandersay - Senior Manager - Talent Acquisition and Development, Nestle. More than 150 participants attended the workshop and the main aim of the workshop was to enhance undergraduates' knowledge of how to maintain an attractive and effective LinkedIn account for their future career development.

Career Fair 2023 - Inauguration Ceremony
The Career Fair 2023 organized by the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya was ceremoniously launched for the 14th consecutive year on the 31st of March 2023 at the auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Career Fair is organized annually with the aim of providing a platform for undergraduates to explore career opportunities in the corporate world by introducing them to potential employers. The Career Fair 2023 was entirely organized by the student clubs affiliated with the CGU, the LEO Club, the Rotaract Club, the Gavel Club, the LED Club, and AIESEC Club. The president of the Leo Club, Leo Sachith Lakshan chaired the Career Fair 2023. Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya participated as the Chief Guest of the event while Ms. Erosha Fernando, Head of Talent and HR Services of INCEE delivered the keynote speech. Present at the occasion were Senior Professor Dilkushi Wettewe, the Director of the Career Guidance Unit – University of Kelaniya, Deans of the Faculties, academics attached to the CGU, senior treasurers of student clubs, and undergraduates of the university.
