AIESEC is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. We are a non-political, independent, not-for-profit organisation run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Its members are interested in world issues, leadership and management. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion or national / social origin.

Since we were founded, we have engaged and developed over 1,000,000 young people who have been through an AIESEC experience. The impact of our organisation can be seen through our alumni who represent business, NGO and world leaders, including one Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Martti Atisaari of Finland.

QUILL IT

QUILL IT, was the blogging competition organized by AIESEC in the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with Imperial College of Business Studies, for the school students of Colombo and Gampaha Districts of grade 09 and above. Apart from facilitating a platform for teenagers to showcase and gain recognition for their writing skills and creative mindset, the QUILL IT Organizing Committee managed to plan 02 workshops and the Award ceremony for contestants.

Sparkles 2021

Sparkles 2021, the annual awarding ceremony was conducted with the aim to reward and recognize the performance of membership of AIESEC in university of Kelaniya. It was conducted with the Underwater Theme ; "finding precious pearls under the water and describing their value and crowning their talent"

300 Minutes

300 Minutes is a capacity-building platform mainly focused on developing the leadership skills of the Leadership body of AIESEC at the University of Kelaniya. The theme of the event was FIRST SIX AVENGERS since the society can learn multiple leadership qualities from Avengers and they are very impactful. The Leadership Body was able to get inspired with the advice from the experts, engage in team activities to develop their teamwork skills as well as leadership potential.

How About Yes

How About Yes or HAY is a public speaking competition organized by AIESEC in University of Kelaniya in collaboration with AIESEC in Informatics Institute of Technology and Uva Wellassa University. HAY was a successful business development initiative which involved a variety of different personalities from different professions. Nationally and internationally recognized public speakers from the industry added color to the competition making it a successful initiative.

EDvantage

Initiated by the Outgoing Global Talent and Teacher function of AIESEC in the University of Kelaniya, EDvantage got involved potential teachers from all around Sri Lanka to engage with a knowledge enhancement session. The CV competition that selected the most potential and qualified teachers was followed by the Languagely session in which international parties contributed to introducing the paid internship opportunities in their countries to the audience.

Fashionista

Fashionista,is  the first ever event organized for the fashion oriented young crowd by AIESEC in University of Kelaniya in collaboration with Informatics Institute of Technology. Additionally, the first ever Public Relations campaign of AIESEC in University of Kelaniya added to the success of Fashionista. The fashion designing and modelling competitions followed by informative workshops associated with fashionista paved the way for the young crowd to make networks with the well known fashion figures in the industry.

Suwa

SUWA is the first and the largest CSR project carried out by AIESEC in University of Kelaniya based on the Sustainable Development Goal(SDG)- 06 “Clear water and sanitation”. The major aim of this project is to make the community aware about the soil transmitted  diseases around urban areas in Colombo. Also this project is aiming to create a positive impact on society . Several webinars and competitions were conducted as a part of SUWA in order to increase the community awareness on SDG 6 and other SDGs with the participation of 400+ people representing every age category.

Episode  

Episode is an initiative to enhance and raise awareness of a vast membership in AIESEC of University of Kelaniya, IIT and University of Uwa Wellassa about the organizing committees and the job descriptions of the Organizing Committee President and Organizing Committee Vice Presidents in order to encourage them to apply for local and international teams . Also this Episode focuses on developing the public speaking skills and event management skills, networking skills and enhancing the engagement of youth.

Pitch Perfect 

Pitch Perfect is a pitching and negotiation skill development simulation competition conducted under the collaboration with AIESEC in University College of London where the delegates were expected to compete in groups to pitch their own start-up idea. Here, the event scope extended as far as connecting with AIESECers in other countries so that the delegates received the international AIESEC exposure.

On the go

This was a three day (24th August 2021 to 27th August 2021)  virtual event organized by the Incoming Global Volunteer function under the sustainable development goal 08. The target audience was the International relations partners of Sri Lanka as it was an entertainment based virtual journey that showcased the signature landmarks of Sri Lanka. The event provided a virtual solution to the travelling limitations that were imposed due to the pandemic. 20+ local and international delegates took part in this event.

Inside Out

“Inside Out” is another IR event organized by the Incoming Global Volunteer function of AIESEC in Colombo North under the sustainable development goal 03 - Good Health and Well-being. 30+ delegates from CN and 9+ countries helped make this event a success by engaging in activities that were meant to provide a solution to the monotonous virtual lifestyle. The event timeline took place from the 19th August 2021 to 22nd August 2021.

Evolution AI

Evolution AI is the first event organized by University of Kelaniya in collaboration with Computer Science Students Association of University of Kelaniya by partnering up with Mitra Innovations Limited, to connect young science and technology enthusiasts all around Sri Lanka. It aims to create a platform for youth to unleash their creativity, innovations and design knowledge while ensuring that the solutions generated are aligned to the current demands of technological applications as well as are also contemporary and relevant to the objectives provided by Mitra Innovations.
