The Model United Nations of the University of Kelaniya (UOK-MUN), started in 2016, is educational simulation of the United Nations. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for the members to step into the shoes of a diplomat and enhance knowledge on UN proceedings and trending international issues. We create a platform that educates and empowers undergraduates to be better global citizens who strive for peace, cooperation and sustainable development. Members are given extensive training and hands-on experience of real diplomatic environments through international and local forums. 

For any student interested in International Politics, Current Affairs, Peace Studies or Diplomacy, UOK-MUN is a fantastic opportunity to explore the horizons, meet the experts in the field, and get the real experience of the UN world. UOK-MUN will also help to improve public speaking and negotiation skills. UOK-MUN is the first state university of Sri Lanka to a start a club of this nature and hopes to introduce inter-university competitions and MUN culture in local universities. Our upcoming events include the first intra-university and inter-university “Position Paper Writing Competition”.
