The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya conducted the first Meeting for the Career Fair 2025 on December 12, 2024. Held virtually from 10:00 to 10:30 am, the meeting marked the first step in organizing the much-anticipated career fair. It provided participating companies with detailed insights into the event’s objectives, procedures, and structure.The session was hosted by Rtr. Vihanga Divyanjana, the President of the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya and project Chair of the Career Fair.
Sixteen leading companies participated at the meeting, representing industries. Among the notable attendees were A. Baur & Co (Pvt.) Ltd, represented by Pujitha Senarathna, and Ceylon Cold Stores, represented by Isuru Perera. NTB Bank’s Medhavi Samarakoon, Insighture’s Avisha Perera and Menaka, MAS Holdings’ Eranga Bowatte, and Mark from Brandix were also present. Other participants included Hemas Holdings, Abans, Z Messenger, Sunshine, Cargills, CodeGen, AIA, EY, and Jaykay Marketing Services (John Keells).
The meeting was organized by a dedicated team led by Rtr. Vihanga Divyanjana. Rtr. Shahmi Rizwan, Rtr. Safaa Amir, and Rtr. Kusal Jayasooriya served as Project Coordinators. Supporting them were the Industry Coordinators: Rtr. Nipuni Perera, Rtr. Mohammed Faham, Rtr. Nuvindya Senanayaka, Rtr. Afrah Ihthisham, and Rtr. M. R. Zaiena. During the meeting, Mr. Viraj Abhayasinghe (Career Counsellor) from the Career Guidance Unit also expressed gratitude to the companies for their enthusiasm and collaboration. He highlighted the importance of such industry partnerships in supporting students’ career development and creating valuable opportunities for professional growth.The Launch Meeting provided an essential platform to outline the Career Fair 2025’s structure and engagement opportunities.
