National Volunteer Summit 2022 which was organized by United Nations Volunteers was indeed a valuable and timely forum where volunteers from the whole nation representing their respective organizations, universities, clubs, and societies celebrated International Volunteer Day with the theme 'Solidarity Through Volunteering' and with the hashtag “Together, Act Now.” The summit was held on 05th December 2022 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.
The summit presented the Colombo Declaration which consisted of the important areas discussed and the recommendations received. The University of Kelaniya represented the event and contributed valuable thoughts for the betterment of society.
Dinura Liyanage, Akshana Wickaramasinghe, Nisal Damsara Nanayakkara of the faculty of Commerce and Financial Management, and Yenuli Amaratunga, Hiruni Udumulla Arachchi of the faculty of Humanities represented the University of Kelaniya.
