New Year, New Beginnings with New Hopes!

2022 has already gone.2023 has started. We have another 12 months to write new chapters of our own story. As a Sri Lankan nation, we faced many political, economic and social struggles last year. Still, it is not over and we want to overcome all these things. 2022 was a challenging year for all education sectors in Sri Lanka. Pre-school, School and university students faced many exam postponements, malnutrition, drug mafia cases, insufficient facilities, school transportation and academic strike problems. Due to the economic crisis, inflation, the constant fluctuation of interest rates and higher cost of living rates people were not focused on their children's education very much.
But once Molière said that “The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.” How much we faced failures, challenges and obstacles last year, it gave us a great experience and the power to refit our hearts and mind. Hence there is another chance to rebuild our strength in education. Whatever the problems we are facing yet we have to go forward. It is a time to rethink and refresh our minds in this new year with new hopes. As a student, you have more creativity, physical and mental energy. This is a new beginning to improve your studies, practical experiences, sports and extracurricular studies. Learn your failures, start again and work hard. Start your own plan, Do your missed studies, and try to earn some money during your university life. Take a paper and do a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) for yourself. It is a great help to find out where is the actual place you are now. Think and write down your annual plan and what your goal for this new year is. After that find out how you are going to achieve these goals. Try to find more opportunities around the university and other places. Build a good network with university friends, lecturers and industries. It will support to achieve your goals.
Time moves faster than we think. As per John. F, we must use time as a tool, not as a couch. Now you have twelve months in your hand. Start to work quickly. Use your time wisely. Peoples always think still we have time, But in the end, time passes without knowing. So don’t waste this new year on unnecessary things. Plan your life and work smart.
